Hartford Man, 35, Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting Child: State
A Hartford Superior Court jury rendered a guilty verdict for the sexual assault of a 9-year-old in 2022.
HARTFORD, CT — A 35-year-old Hartford man was found guilty by a state superior court jury Wednesday of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old child.
Sharmese L. Walcott, Hartford State’s Attorney, said Noel Martinez, 35, of Hartford, was found guilty in Hartford Superior court of two counts of first-degree sexual assault; illegal sexual contact with a victim under 16; and risk of injury to a minor.
According to evidence at the trial, in February 2022, the state Department of Children and Families notified the Hartford Police Department of a report they received alleging sexual abuse of a minor.

Walcott said the report, made by a relative of the victim, indicated the child was sexually assaulted by the defendant when the victim was 9 years old.
Walcott said she would like to "thank the jury for their time and attention, the victim and her father for enduring the process, and the trial team for their time and the intense effort they made to seek justice in this sexual assault case."

Sentencing is scheduled for April 25 in Hartford Superior Court.
