Hartford Man Killed In Route 2 Crash: Police
The driver was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries in the East Hartford accident, police said.

EAST HARTFORD/HARTFORD, CT — A 58-year-old Hartford man was killed in a violent, single-vehicle crash on Route 2 in East Hartford Wednesday night.
According to Connecticut State Police, the victim/operator of the vehicle has been identified as Curtis Waters, 58, of Maple Avenue, Hartford.
Police said he sustained fatal injuries after the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox he was driving veered off the highway, through a guardrail, down an embankment, and into a tree.

The crash happened at about 9:42 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Waters was the lone occupant in the vehicle.
According to the state police accident report, released Thursday morning, Waters' vehicle was traveling on Route 2 East, just east of Exit 2.

For "an unknown reason" the vehicle veered into the left shoulder, police said, before going through a wire rope guardrail.
The Equinox then went down a dirt embankment and slammed into a tree at the bottom, police said.
This resulted in Waters being ejected from the vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
Police are still investigating the crash and ask that any potential witnesses contact police or if they have possible dashcam footage of the vehicle.
