HARTFORD, CT — The school district is taking precautions to ensure student and staff safety following a series of threats, according to NBC CT. The threats are in response to a district decision to put a school nurse on leave who is accused of making comments about LGBTQ students on social media.

The district has brought in school safety and Hartford police officers to schools out of an abundance of caution. Since the decision putting the nurse on administrative leave, the district received 50 emails, phone calls, and voice messages that included harassment or threats, NBC CT reported.
