Man In His 40s Shot Dead In Hartford Thursday Evening: Police

This is the third homicide in Hartford since Sunday and comes as the state probes two fatal, officer-involved shootings last month.

HARTFORD, CT — For the third time since last Sunday, a person was killed at the hands of another in Hartford.

The Hartford Police Department said a man in his 40s was found fatally shot Thursday evening on Albany Avenue, and police say the investigation remains ongoing.

Officers were dispatched at about 6:56 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, to the area of 848 Albany Ave. after receiving a report of a person shot, according to the HPD.

Responding officers located an unresponsive male gunshot victim. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes Division and Crime Scene Division responded and have assumed the investigation.

Police said the case remains active.

This is the third homicide in a week in the city.

On Monday, March 9, a 42-year-old Hartford man was shot and killed on Allen Place.

On Sunday, March 8, a 52-year-old Hartford man was taken into custody and charged with killing a 75-year-old Hartford woman in her apartment.

Police said the elderly woman suffered from severe head trauma.

The string of homicides also comes as the State of Connecticut probes two fatal, officer-involved shootings in Hartford in February, one on Feb. 27 and the other on Feb. 19.
