Man Accused Of Stabbing Walmart Employee In Hartford: Reports

A man is accused of stabbing a Walmart employee at a Hartford store Saturday night.

HARTFORD, CT — A man is in custody on allegations that he stabbed a Walmart employee in Hartford on Saturday night, according to NBC CT. Police were called to the Walmart on Flatbush Avenue at about 9:20 p.m.

Police responded and found that employees were holding the suspect on the ground. The suspect still had a knife, according to WFSB 3-TV.

Police removed the knife from the suspect, identified as Ruben Soto, 31, and took him into custody. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The victim, who was stabbed in the stomach, was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is in stable condition, NBC CT reported.

A second employee suffered a cut on the wrist and was treated at the scene.

Soto is facing charges of assault, threatening, carrying a dangerous weapon, reckless endangerment, and breach of peace, according to WFSB 3-TV.
