1. 2 Rushed To Hospital After Hartford Double Shooting: Police (patch.com) — Hartford residents are being urged to share any information after two people were wounded in a double shooting on Barbour Street early Saturday, prompting a major response from city police. Both victims, a woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s, were conscious when taken to local hospitals, while Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions continue investigating with no suspect details released.
   

2. The invasive tree that's attracting spotted lanternfly in CT's urban areas (ctpublic.org) — If you've noticed more spotted lanternflies downtown, Hartford officials say an invasive tree called tree-of-heaven is likely drawing them to city buildings and sidewalks. The city and USDA are removing or treating these trees, especially in heavy infestation hotspots, to cut down the pests and protect Hartford's urban canopy.
   

3. There has been a recent spate of fatal stabbings in CT. It's causing some alarm for victims' advocates. (courant.com) — Hartford residents are being urged to stay aware after a woman was fatally stabbed during an early-morning dispute on Bond Street, one of four recent knife killings statewide. Experts say most stabbings are sudden, emotionally charged attacks, and domestic-violence advocates stress that help and confidential support are available for anyone feeling unsafe at home.
   

4. I-TEAM: Banking Dept. employees dispute Gov. Lamont's claims of an 'ongoing review' into complaints filed against Commissioner (wfsb.com) — State banking employees in Hartford say they haven't heard from the Governor's Office, despite Gov. Ned Lamont describing an "ongoing review" of complaints against Banking Commissioner Jorge Perez. Workers describe a culture of fear, retaliation, and alleged unprofessional conduct, while Perez cites a medical condition and defends his leadership. HR officials say complaints led to verbal warnings and counseling, but staff report little change.
   

5. Sex offender sentenced to more than 10 years in prison in Hartford (newportdispatch.com) — A Norwalk man has been sentenced in Hartford federal court to more than 10 years in prison, plus lifetime supervised release, for possessing thousands of images and videos of child sexual abuse. The FBI-led investigation, supported by state probation officers and Norwalk police, traced his activity on an encrypted app before seizing multiple devices from his home.
