Woman Dies When Porch Railing Collapses In Hartford: Report

HARTFORD, CT — A woman fell and died when a second-floor porch railing collapsed in Hartford on Wednesday evening, according to The Hartford Courant. The accident occurred at 82 Chadwick Ave. around 6 p.m.

Police said the woman was standing on the second-floor landing of a rear porch when the railing collapsed. She fell onto the pavement about eight feet below, suffering a severe head injury, according to The Hartford Courant.

She was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Police said they aren't releasing the name of the victim, according to WFSB 3 TV.
