• Building fire temporarily closes several businesses at Harwinton shopping plaza (wtnh.com) — An early-morning fire badly damaged several businesses at the shopping center on 157 Litchfield Road in nearby Harwinton, forcing them to close indefinitely. Daily Mart, Hometown Pizza, and 5 Scoops Sweet Shoppe all suffered heavy damage, and mutual aid came from surrounding towns as investigators work to determine the cause. Residents may find some usual shopping and dining options unavailable for some time.
