• Madison P&Z Approves Downtown, Sidewalk Projects And 4-Unit Apartment Building (patch.com) — Madison's Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a new four‑unit apartment building on Durham Road plus major downtown and sidewalk upgrades along Boston Post Road, Britton Lane, and West Wharf Road, all taking effect September 3. Commissioners added conditions to protect key trees, historic character, and pedestrian safety, while continuing hearings on an 18‑home Mill Road development and a Bailey Creek bridge replacement.
   

• CTDOT Plans to Rehabilitate Retaining Wall on Route 1 in Madison (ct.gov) — State transportation officials are planning a full rehabilitation of a retaining wall along Route 1 (Boston Post Road) in Madison, with design work expected to finish in 2028 and construction targeted for 2029. CTDOT is asking Madison residents to share questions or concerns now to help shape the project before final approvals and permitting are completed.
