1. Madison Teen Saves Dad From Heart Attack: Report (patch.com) — Madison residents can take pride in 16-year-old Noah White, whose quick CPR response helped save his father John after a sudden heart attack at their home. Drawing on skills learned as a U.S. Navy Sea Cadet, Noah calmly called 911 and began chest compressions, actions his family and first responders credit with keeping his dad alive until help arrived.
2. Madison Finance Board Approves Flood Study, Opioid Settlement Spending (patch.com) — Madison's Board of Finance has approved nearly $50,000 for a professional flooding study on Green Hill Road Extension and more than $22,000 from the town's opioid settlement funds for a social worker and added Health Department hours. Members also accepted sizable donations supporting Youth and Family Services and Beach and Recreation, and heard updates on the seawall, Surf Club upgrades, Academy property study, and the new Emergency Operations Center.
3. Death of 31-year-old Waterbury man in Madison crash ruled an accident, officials say (nhregister.com) — A fatal single-vehicle crash on Route 80 in Madison Sunday morning claimed the life of a 31-year-old Waterbury man and has been ruled an accident by the state medical examiner. Madison police closed part of Route 80 for hours and are still investigating, asking anyone who saw the crash or has information to contact them.
4. Madison Gas Prices: Connecticut Average Eases To $4.45 A Gallon (patch.com) — Drivers in Madison are paying around $4.45 per gallon for regular gas, a few cents less than last week but still far higher than a year ago. The state average remains above the national price, and costs can vary widely between stations, so it may pay to shop around locally.
