Madison Resident Named ENR's Prestigious Top 20 Under 40 List

Burns & McDonnell Names a Winner of the Top 20 Under 40

Madison, CT –The New England office of Burns & McDonnell proudly announced that Madison resident Jason McCreary, department manager in the Transmission & Distribution engineering group as well as Wallingford resident Jason Cabral, a project manager in their Transmission & Distribution division, have been named as winners of the Engineering News Record New York Top 20 Under 40 competition.

“We are very proud of each of them for such prestigious recognition,” said President Brett Williams. “They make our company proud every day, and it’s exciting to see them both recognized among this coveted group.”

Engineering News Record New York’s Top 20 Under 40 winners were chosen based on their industry experience, leadership, and community service. Each year the competition seeks to recognize 20 young rising stars under the age of 40 who represent the “Best-of-the-Best” in their construction and design careers. They are judged on their efforts to advance their companies and industry, and by their contributions in giving back to their communities.

Jason McCreary of Madison, CT, has traveled around the world and boasts a long list of accomplishments in his 12 years with Burns & McDonnell. In the Northeast and Canada, Burns & McDonnell helps manage over $7 billion in infrastructure improvements projects. That volume of work presents non-stop challenges to the Transmission & Distribution engineering group that McCreary serves as department manager of in Wallingford. McCreary has worked with school science and engineering groups to mentor young students and is also an active supporter of the United Way.

Jason Cabral of Wallingford, CT, has managed some of the largest electric reliability projects in the country. Some of his most recent accomplishments include serving as a project manager on the Greater Springfield Reliability Project. In his role, Cabral led a project team who logged over 2.9 million man-hours on a project without one loss time injury, and completed the project on time and under budget. He currently serves as program manager for FirstEnergy’s Large Transmission Project Program, where Burns & McDonnell’s performance has earned them a role for the same client on a large initiative called Energizing the Future. His community service efforts have included contributions to the United Way, support for tornado victims in western Massachusetts, and organizing toy drives for children in need.
