There's a lot to see each weekend, unfortunately without a time machine and a transporter room, I often miss the best of it. I have faced facts that I am not the early-bird I could be, and staying up late writing blog posts is never going to get me there.
Every now and then I get a break and the thing that I call the show-piece item is still there. Take, for example a few weeks ago, when I captured this piece of Japanese Zero here. That got me thinking, if I can find a high profile item each week, I would put it on a pedestal maybe in time for someone to grab it.
This weekend, I was definitely too late to find the number one item, even though I was digging on a Friday. When I couldn't find anything at the 2 estate sales I visited in Trumbull, I decided to try an old standby.
At Just In Antiques in New Milford, I discovered the quintessential pick for any local collector. A banner flag from the Danbury State Fair. Danbury Fair memorabilia can still be found and for a price that won't have you feeling like you just left the midway - no stuffed animal, no money.
I have found some Danbury Fair items myself, and one in the strangest way. Take a look here.
