The longtime town physician and organizer helped transform the Main Street holiday run into an internationally known event, and his family will join race-week ceremonies honoring his impact on the community.
3. How to get overdose reversal drug naloxone, or Narcan, in CT (ctmirror.org) — Manchester residents can get free naloxone at The Root Center for Advanced Recovery, one of several harm-reduction programs statewide helping reduce overdose deaths. The piece explains how naloxone works, where else to find it, costs at pharmacies, and why health officials urge people who may encounter opioid use to carry it.
4. Before fleeing, Kosta Diamantis sent email accusing Ned Lamont of corruption (ctpost.com) — Manchester school construction projects are part of a broader federal investigation into Connecticut's school grant program, tied to the corruption case of former state official Kosta Diamantis. As Diamantis fled to Greece before sentencing, newly revealed emails accuse Gov. Ned Lamont of retaliation, claims the governor's office strongly rejects as baseless.
5. 2 arrested after investigators find 5 dead dogs at property, troopers say (azfamily.com) — Two people face animal cruelty charges after investigators found five dead dogs and other serious welfare issues at a Marlborough property, and their case is now headed to Manchester court on October 2. State police say several living dogs were seized, bonds were set, and the investigation followed earlier health and safety inspections.
