Dog Rescued From Raging Apartment Fire In Manchester, 19 Displaced

MANCHESTER, CT — A dog was rescued from a raging fire at a Manchester apartment complex to begin the weekend.

The fire broke out at 10:19 p.m. Friday at the Squire Village complex on Imperial Drive, fire officials said.

The first engine arrived three minutes after the initial call and a crew found smoke and fire through the roof of a the No. 16 unit.

A second alarm brought all 7 Manchester companies plus a crew from East Hartford to the scene, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported and a dog was rescued by firefighters and transported to a local veterinarian for evaluation, officials said.

The American Red Cross said 18 adults and one child were displaced by the blaze.
