Manchester Cops, Citizen, Team Up To Save Life of Heroin Overdose Victim
The man was deep in the woods in a conservation area.

MANCHESTER, CT - Two local officers are being credited with helping a quick-thinking citizen save the life of a person suffering from a heroin overdose deep into a conservation area off Spencer Street, a police spokesman said.
Manchester Police Department spokesman Capt. Christopher Davis said that on July 20 at 7:40 p.m., Officer Jerrad Johnson and Officer Aaron Bubans were dispatched to the area of 239 Spencer Street for a person who had overdosed on heroin.
Dispatchers advised them that a female was on scene attempting to give CPR to the individual, who was located on a trail in the woods behind the old K-Mart, Davis said.

When Johnson and Bubans arrived at the scene, they had to run run about a mile into the woods in "full duty gear" until they were able to locate the female attempting to help the person on a bird-watching platform, along the riverbank, Davis said. Bubans and Johnson then took over CPR efforts, Davis said.
Shortly thereafter, the male responded and began breathing on his own, Davis said.
