Parents, Driver Arrested In Manchester Fatal Pedestrian Crash Death Involving 4-Year-Old (patch.com) — Manchester residents are reeling after a 4-year-old girl, Akari Cortes, died following a June 10 predawn pedestrian crash on East Center Street, leading to three arrests. Police charged the Manchester driver with multiple motor vehicle offenses and also charged the child's parents with risk of injury, with all three due in Manchester Superior Court in early September.

2. With 1st CT Human West Nile Case Announced, How Has Mosquito Testing Gone In Manchester? (patch.com) — Manchester residents are getting fresh details on local West Nile activity, with one mosquito testing positive among 118 trapped on Oak Grove Street as the virus peaks statewide. Health officials stress that, despite late summer, Manchester and other communities should still reduce standing water and take bite-prevention steps, especially for older or higher-risk residents.

HELL HATH NO FURY All-Female Rock Revue to Benefit Little Theatre of Manchester (broadwayworld.com) — Little Theatre of Manchester is hosting an all-female rock revue, "Hell Hath No Fury," at Cheney Hall on Friday, Sept. 25, with tickets starting at $22. The one-night-only concert will feature female-identifying performers from across Connecticut, and all proceeds will support the nonprofit theatre's work serving Greater Manchester's arts community.

WSOC Suffers Defeat at Brown - University of Connecticut Athletics (uconnhuskies.com) — A UConn women's soccer player from Manchester, Conn., Se-Hanna Mars, created one of the Huskies' best first-half chances in a 1-0 road loss to Brown. Despite strong goalkeeping and several near-misses, UConn conceded in the 58th minute and couldn't find an equalizer before time expired.

5. State police investigating serious rollover crash on I-84 in East Hartford (courant.com) — A 34-year-old man from Manchester was seriously injured Friday morning when his vehicle struck a sound barrier and rolled over on I-84 West in East Hartford. State police are still investigating and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area between Exits 59 and 58 to contact Trooper Joshua Durant.
