Police: Manchester and Vernon Robberies May Be Connected

A number of robberies have occurred between Manchester and Vernon this past week.

Vernon and Manchester police are working together to determine whether a string of armed robberies in both towns are related.

The Best Gas on Tolland Turnpike in Manchester was robbed at knifepoint Thursday, the Hartford Courant reports. The suspect, described as a white male, handed a note to a worker that demanded money.

Vernon has had a string of robberies over the past week. The On the Way Convenience Store located at 352 Hartford Turnpike was robbed Saturday night at knifepoint, according to police. The suspect was described as a 6-foot-tall white male.

There were two reported robberies on Sept. 23. The first occurred at 7:44 p.m. at the Rubia Food Mart. The suspect was described by police as a 6-foot-tall male in his 20’s wielding a knife.

The second robbery of that night occurred at 11:34 pm. at the 7-11 located at Union and West streets. The suspect was reportedly armed with handgun and was described as a 5-foot-10 white male in his 20’s.
