The 25-year-old mother told police she had only left the children alone for a few minutes, but police said they'd been there for 15 minutes.

Manchester police say a 25-year-old Stafford Springs mother left her two-month old baby and her two-year-old toddler in a parked car alone in Manchester, according to a report on the NBC Connecticut website.
At about 2 p.m., a store employee alerted police, who arrived outside 1041 Main St. to find only the two children in the car, which had one window partially rolled down. The mother, Amanda Lasewicz, returned about 15 minutes later.
According to the news report, police said Lasewicz told them she was getting food for the children at a nearby restaurant and had only left them in the car for a few minutes.
