Theft of Church's Roof Copper Results in Water Pouring in During Service
Someone stole $1,200 worth of copper flashing and downspouts from the roof of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester.

During recent church services at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on Park Street, water came pouring in, and parishioners got buckets and mops to clean up, even as the service continued, according to the NBC Connecticut website.
The water came in because somebody had gone up on the roof and stolen $1,200 worth of copper downspouts and flashing, some of which was custom-made for the church and will now have to be replaced.
Some copper from the church showed up at a scrapyard in East Hartford, according to Manchester police, who have a suspect and hope to make an arrest, according to the television station.
