14-Year-Old Student ID'd as Suspect in Meriden High School Shooting Threat
He is alleged to have left a threatening note in the boy's gym locker room at Maloney High School.

MERIDEN, CT — A 14-year-old male student has been identified as the person responsible for leaving a note that threatened a school shooting at Maloney High School, according to police.
The note, which said in part "school shooting tomorrow," was discovered Thursday afternoon in boy's gym locker room, and police and school officials were able to identify the suspect on Friday.
"The 14-year-old male student is currently being dealt with by the Maloney High School administrative staff with regards to the necessary disciplinary action to be taken by the Meriden Board of Education," wrote Meriden Police Sgt. Darrin McKay in a statement.

He added, "At this time the Meriden Police Department is working hand in hand with the school’s staff as well, and the appropriate criminal charges will be sought."
The note was discovered at about 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, and police immediately claimed that the department did not view it as a credible threat. However, school and police officials still took precautions by increasing the law enforcement presence at the school Friday morning.
