Annual Service for Meriden Baby Who Died of Exposure

Meriden police and others will hold the 27th annual memorial service for a baby who was abandoned and died from exposure

The Meriden Police Department will hold its 27th annual memorial service of “David Paul” an infant who died from exposure after being abandoned in January 1988.

The service will take place Jan. 2 at 10 a.m. at his grade in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

“We are again inviting all area child caring facilities, child advocates, service providers, educators,city officials and the general public to join us in reaffirming our commitment to all those child who have been abused and neglected,” said Sgt. Darrin Mckay in a release.

David Paul was found dead from exposure on Jan. 2 in South Meriden. He was 7.5 pounds and had blue eyes.

“David Paul” was named by local clergy members; David means “God’s beloved” and Paul means “little man.”

The service will be coordinated by Pastor Alden Barnes.
