Celtic Christmas Concert

THE MORGANS, one of the Northeast's most popular and enduring folk bands, will be performing their 13th annual  "Celtic Christmas Concert" in Meriden.  Smith Hall at the 1st Congregational Church, at 62 Colony Street will again be the site of this year's festivities.   The concert is supported by the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism and the National Endowment For The Arts.

As in past years, the concert will feature THE MORGANS' toe-tapping, hand-clapping set of seasonal selections from Ireland and the British Isles.  But this year they will be joined by the Lincoln Middle School Chorale, who will sing the choruses on Tom Callinan's "Christmas In Connecticut", and join in with an eclectic carol-sing at the end. The seating for the concert will be cabaret-style, with light refreshments provided.  It is not unusual for surprise "ringers" (singers, dancers, other musicians) to attend and add a spontaneous feel to the festivities.

Tickets are $12 in advance, or $15 at the door.  Call the Church office: (203) 235-5704, or (203) 631-8423.  For further information regarding THE MORGANS, contact Tom Callinan, Business Manager: (860) 889-6648.
