On Monday, Jan. 17, the 26th annual Martin Luther King Jr./Albert Owens scholarship breakfast will take place at Maloney High School starting at 8 a.m. This annual community breakfast has grown to become Meriden's most prestigious event celebrating this important holiday. This year's featured speaker is the Rev. Moses Harvill, pastor of Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church in Middletown. The breakfast will also feature Chorale Connecticut, New Life Church choir, Mount Hebron Baptist Church choir and other entertainment. Tickets are available at the door.
