Family Of Meriden Teen Who Went Missing In CT River Seeking Support From The Public
The family of a Meriden teen who went missing in the Connecticut River is seeking support from the public; find out how you can help.

HADDAM, CT - The search for 17-year old Jay David Agli of Meriden came to an end Tuesday after his body was found south of Haddam Island off Haddam Meadows State Park. During this difficult time, his family is asking for help financially from the public.
Agli's cousin, Jennifer Perez, has set up a GoFundMe page for donations that will go towards the teen's immediate family. As of Wednesday morning, the page has raised $1,880 toward a $7,000 goal. (To sign up for the Haddams and Killingworth breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
"I know this is a tough time for not only me, but for his entire family," Perez said in a post. "They need all the support right now in the midst of this tragedy and anything you can do to help them is much appreciated."

Agli went missing Sunday after he jumped into the Connecticut River to save his 19-year old sister. His body did not immediately resurface, prompting a search that lasted two days.

The search took place by land, vessels and dive teams. State EnCon Police, State Police, US Coast Guard, Haddam Fire Department, Chester Fire Department and Middletown Fire Department and Dive Team and Police Department were involved in the search.
Perez described Agli as a bright light to everyone who knew him.
"I don't think anyone he knew has a single negative thing to say about him," Perez said in a post. "He was selfless, kind, funny, and most of all, he made everyone feel like part of his family."
