Healthy Pizza

Making America's comfort food a little better for you

Pizza is definitely a comfort food, so we at My City Kitchen put a healthy twist to this American favorite. Packed with veggies, lean ground turkey and fruit, it's a complete meal perfect for the whole family.

Ingredients

¼ cup sliced fresh mushrooms

¼  cup fresh  broccoli

¼  cup fresh pineapple

½ cup fresh spinach

¼  cup chopped assorted bell pepper

¼  cup cherry tomatoes slice in halves

¼ cup lean ground turkey

2 (7-inch) whole wheat pizza crusts

8-oz pizza Sauce

8-oz packages shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Fresh herbs oregano, basil, rosemary

Directions

Position the oven rack at the lowest level. If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven on the rack. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Spread pizza sauce evenly over the crust.  Use half of the mozzarella and sprinkle on top of the sauce. Distribute the vegetables, pineapples and meat evenly over the crust then add the remaining cheese. If you don't have a pizza stone, place the pizzas on a baking sheet. 

Bake the pizzas for 10 to 12 minutes. Slice pizza into four and serve hot.
