Meriden Man Charged In Fatal Wrong-Way Crash On I-91

The man was arrested in connection to a fiery wrong-way crash that killed a man last year.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man was arrested this week on charges in connection to a fiery wrong-way crash that killed a man on I-91 in North Haven last year, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports Darwin Duchitanga-Quitutuizaca, 32, was arrested on a warrant after State Police determined that he was operating a pickup truck in the wrong direction near Exit 11 in North Haven that crashed head-on with a vehicle operated by Benjamin Franklin Morant, who was killed in the crash. Duchitanga-Quitutuizaca was charged with second-degree manslaughter along with motor vehicle charges.

The crash occurred at about 2:40 a.m. on March 19, 2017.
