The construction worker fell about 20 feet off scaffolding at a site in Darien on July 5.

DARIEN, CT — Nick Martinez, a 26-year-old construction worker from Meriden, has been identified as the victim of last week's fatal construction site fall in Darien, according to police.
On the morning of July 5, Martinez was working when he fell about 20 feet off of scaffolding at a facility on Hollow Tree Ridge Road being built by Infinity Constructions Systems LLC of Meriden.
"Initial investigation shows that the victim was doing surface work to the side of a new structure being built at that location," wrote Darien police in a statement last week. "The victim, working approximately 20 feet from the ground, lost his footing for an unknown reason and fell to the ground."
