Meriden Students Vandalize Graduation Ceremony, Get Arrested: PD
Several students were arrested after police say they caused $2,500 worth of damage by pelting the graduation setup with eggs and paintballs.

MERIDEN, CT — Four students have been arrested for vandalizing the graduation ceremony setup at Wilcox Technical High School in Meriden with eggs and paintballs, according to Connecticut State Police. At about 7 a.m. on June 19, school administrators discovered that the stage and chairs that had been set up in the rear parking lot for the graduation ceremony that night had been damaged after being struck with eggs and paintballs. The estimated cost of the damage and clean-up was $2,500, according to police.
School administrators contacted the Connecticut State Police School Resource Officer assigned to the school and an investigation was initiated. Police say one 18-year-old student and four juveniles were identified as being responsible for the vandalism.
Anthony Fuentes, 18, of Meriden, and three juveniles were arrested and charged with third-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief. A fourth juvenile has been identified and charges are pending, according to police. The juveniles’ names weren’t released due to their age.

Fuentes is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on June 28 and the juveniles are scheduled to appear in New Haven Juvenile Court.
Police said all of the students have been suspended pending expulsion.
