• 7 Arrested In Child Predator Sting Operation: Meriden Police (patch.com) — Meriden residents are learning more about a recent undercover police operation that led to seven arrests of men accused of trying to meet someone they believed was a minor for sex. Conducted in Meriden during June and July with FBI assistance, the sting focused on preventing child exploitation before any real child was harmed, and all suspects are being held on high bonds.

• Bridge Reopens After Project In Meriden (patch.com) — People who rely on Center Street in Meriden can once again walk and drive across the bridge after a two-year rebuilding project. City officials announced the reopening on Facebook, restoring a key route for both foot and vehicle traffic downtown.

• Meriden's city champion golfer just expanded her reign, and she's still a pre-teen (myrecordjournal.com) — A 12-year-old Meriden golfer just defended her Meriden City Open title at Hunter Golf Club and also captured the tournament's overall women's crown. Brielle Oquendo, now the city's youngest repeat champion, is pushing her game further with regional junior tours and a bid to reach Augusta National for the Drive, Chip & Putt finals.
