AT&T employees support Meriden-based homeless shelter

AT&T employees and retirees recently presented $440 donation to Shelter NOW in Meriden

MERIDEN, Conn. -- AT&T employees and retirees recently presented $440 donation to Shelter NOW in Meriden. The money was raised by AT&T employees themselves, and in response to that effort, AT&T contributed another $1,000 dollars.

Managed by New Opportunities, the Meriden Shelter NOW location provides refuge for three categories of homeless men, women and families. The program is supported by the Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH).

Different categories of residents occupy each floor in the building. There are 26 beds for single males, dormitory-style facilities for 10 single females, eight rooms for family units, and 8 transitional living (TLP) single rooms for women.
