Episodes, Shameless, The Cape

The Cape, 9 p.m., NBC

OK, I’m sure this is going to be terrible, and will be cancelled before most of us even know it’s on, but I find this plot summary irresistible: “Former police officer Vince Faraday teams up with carnival misfits in order to fight crime; The Cape must rely on his friends to help him stop Chess from taking over Palm City's jails.” Oh, and the first clue I have that it is already close to dead is because they are burning two episodes tonight.

 Californication, 9 p.m., Showtime

I hate this show and even I, who blanches at almost nothing, blanch at it.

OK, I found this explanation on tvsquad.com: "A British husband-and-wife screenwriting team attempt to create an American remake of their hit show about a distinguished boarding school. But when they land in L.A., the project takes a few twists and turns. First, the boarding school becomes a hockey team. Then, the title is changed from 'Lyman's Boys' to 'Pucks!' And finally, the role of the wise headmaster? The network wants to turn it into a hockey coach to be played by ... Matt LeBlanc. The writers then have to work with the fictitious LeBlanc to make the show happen.” I love Matt LeBlanc. Therefore I am checking this out.

Shameless, 10 p.m., Showtime

Speaking of love, I adore William H. Macy, and am so looking forward to this new show, in which he plays a complete alcoholic of a bum of a dad whose wife dies and leaves him with their five children. The trailer the network has been running is hysterical.
