Victim Identified In Fatal Stabbing In Meriden

Police say the victim was stabbed to death by her boyfriend.

MERIDEN, CT — Police have identified the woman stabbed to death by her boyfriend Wednesday as Alyssa Guerrero, 21, of South 3rd Street in Meriden. Police said Guerrero had been living in Meriden for about only one month and previously lived in Brookfield.

As police responded to a call for a stabbing on South 3rd Street, a man outside the residence told the officers that he believed there was a woman inside the house who had been stabbed by her boyfriend. Inside the house, officers discovered a 21-year-old woman who had been stabbed at least once in the chest, according to police. The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Mateus Nascimento-Dacosta, 20, of Danbury, turned himself in to Waterbury Police while these events were transpiring, police said. Nascimento-Dacosta was charged with violation of a protective order after being transported back to Meriden and was held on a $1 million bond. Police say the stabbing is still under investigation and that additional charges are forthcoming.
