Video: Car Cuts Off Tractor-Trailer in Meriden With Disastrous Results
The accident happened this month in Meriden.
Not leaving enough space while attempting to pass can spell disaster, especially when a car is attempting to pass a tractor-trailer.
A video posted on Liveleak from the dashcam of a truck driver from Dec. 16 shows an accident on I-691 eastbound in Meriden. One car passes the truck in the left lane without a problem. The second car isn’t so lucky. The video poster said that the person in the car was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The video is a stark reminder for traveling safety during the holiday season. Last year State Police responded to 249 accidents, 28 of which had injuries between Dec. 23 and midnight on Dec. 26.
State Police Trooper Kelley Grant told the Connecticut Post that motorists should remember that tractor trailers take longer to stop due to their weight and aren’t able to quickly swerve out of the way.
