WEATHER ALERT: Two-Day Blizzard Forecast for Meriden
The National Weather Service is predicting how much snow Meriden may receive from this blizzard.

This time it appears you really do want to go out and buy the bread, milk and eggs, as a Blizzard Watch is in effect for Meriden from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
After a pedestrian winter up until yesterday, which saw a decent snowfall across the state of 4-8 inches, Mother Nature seems to be making up for lost time.
The National Weather Service is predicting 12-18 inches of snow could fall before late Tuesday, and there is a good bet for power outages as winds will be gusting between 25-35 miles per hour and up to 50 miles per hour at times.

The National Weather Service writes this about the potential blizzard, “extremely dangerous travel due to heavy snowfall and strong winds with whiteout conditions likely. Secondary and tertiary roads may become impassable, strong winds may down power lines and trees.”
NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan writes on his personal blog, “This storm is shaping up to be a beauty. A classic New England snowstorm that will produce gusty winds, heavy snow, and possibly more than a foot of accumulation.”
