4 Arrested In Theft Of Vehicle In Middletown: Police

A 20-year-old and three juveniles were arrested in the theft of an SUV that was reportedly used in a robbery in Wethersfield, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Four people have been arrested in connection with the theft of a vehicle earlier this week in Middletown, according to police.

A 2014 Toyota Rav 4 was reported stolen from the area of Acorn Drive on Monday, Sept. 5, according to police.

Middletown police were notified around 7 p.m. on Wednesday that the vehicle had been found by another police department’s license plate reader.

Police said the vehicle was last seen in Middletown’s downtown area and was reported to have been involved in a robbery in Wethersfield.

Officers searched the area and found the vehicle at Traverse Square, police said. They made contact with the occupants in the vehicle and arrested three juveniles and 20-year-old Tyanna White, according to police.

White was charged with third-degree larceny and held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Police said the vehicle was processed for physical evidence by the Wethersfield Police Department, then turned over to the owner.

“The Middletown Police Department will continue our efforts to prevent the theft of motor vehicles but owners are reminded to lock their car doors and secure their keys/associated fobs at night,” police wrote in a news release.
