Armed Road Rage Suspect Tracked Down In Middletown: State Police

State police said that a road rage incident that began at one end of Route 9 ended in Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A road rage suspect was tracked down in Middletown after an incident on the far side of Route 9 and the intersection with Interstate 95, state police said.

State police released details of last week's incident Monday.

At about 6:20 p.m. last Thursday, a road rage incident on Interstate 95 in Old Saybrook involving a gun was reported to the state police Troop F barracks in Westbrook, according to an incident report.

Callers told state police that their vehicle was involved in "repeated brake-checking and abrupt lane changes" with another vehicle and that it eventually pulled alongside them to the left, at which time the driver pointed a gun at them through and open passenger-side window, according to an incident report.

The callers were able to provide state troopers with a vehicle description, the plate number and a description of both the driver and the gun, according to an incident report.

As the callers tried to get a photo, the other vehicle sped off as both vehicles had merged onto Route 9 north, state police said.

The aggressor was stopped by troopers on Route 9 in Middletown. He was subsequently identified as Dejon Robinson, 30, of Bristol, state police said. A gun matching the description provided by the callers was recovered from Robinson's vehicle, according to an incident report.

Robinson was arrested without incident and charged with three counts of risk of injury to a child, four counts of second-degree breach of peace, four counts of first-degree threatening with a firearm and four counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, records show.

Robinson was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on July 2, records show.
