Police: Man Tased After Refusing Arrest Tells Officers He's Becoming a Cop

The Middletown Police arrest report says an intoxicated 32-year-old city resident asked them, 'what do I have to do to get this to all go away?'

Middletown Police report the following arrests:

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER — On Oct. 9, police responded to Grand Street for a disturbance in which a female victim was upset her husband Adorno Heriberto, 32, of Grand Street had pinned her brother against the wall. Heriberto was sitting on the front porch yelling, “I’m drunk, this is my house,” and when asked his version of events, kept repeating, “ask her, ask her, ask her, I’m drunk.” He yelled at an officer to get off his property several times using expletives and clenched his fists so he was handcuffed but tensed his body and said, “no, no,” so he was Tasered, then replied, “yo, why you gotta pop me with that?” In the cruiser, police say Heriberto made comments about becoming a police officer, “I’m gonna be a Jake, just like you … what do I have to do to get this to all go away?”

NON-STUDENT POSSESSING DRUG PARAPHERNALIA NEAR SCHOOL, POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, AND WITH INTENT TO SELL, NON-STUDENT POSSESSING DRUGS NEAR SCHOOL, DISTRIBUTION WITHIN 1,500 FEET OF SCHOOL — On Oct. 11, officers saw three men kneeling by the passenger side of a car on Lake Street. One man quickly walked away. Officers smelled pot and saw green leaves inside a cup holder. On the porch, officers found a glass pipe, a baggie with residue and two more with 15 grams of pot inside and an empty WD40 can and digital scale, $120 in cash, plastic bags and $110 on Jerome E. Mountcastle, 27, of Crown Street, Meriden. His cell phone rang constantly during the search.

USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On Oct. 11 at 9:15 p.m., Joshua Springer, 23, of Old Mill Road was the passenger in a Nissan Maxima driving ahead of an officer without an illuminated plate. He is a known drug user with pending criminal cases. He admitted to having drug paraphernalia; police found a key chain with a box, two pipes with Brillo in the tip, a holder for the pipes made of tape, elastic band and small round wooden stick. The driver allowed a search and officers found a small leather bag with a small clear baggie, two needles with orange caps, two small plastic spoons, four glass pipes with Brillo, Camel tobacco tin, two pieces of Brillo and a Liberty Bank credit card with neither of the men’s names on it. Springer said all of the paraphernalia was his. The driver said he picked Springer up from work at Nardelli’s and was told he found a credit card at work and did the driver want to rent some Red Box movies and exchange them for drugs. A further search turned up half a small light blue pill, clear plastic bag with 1 and ½ light blue pills and a package labeled “Suboxone” and a prescription for the Suboxone. Springer has been convicted of fourth-degree larceny, credit card theft, sixth-degree larceny; and has two pending cases for two counts of sixth-degree larceny and second-degree forgery.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Oct. 10 at 10:35 p.m., Laura Williamson, 35, of Washington Street was at her apartment reportedly out of control. Officers heard her telling her 9-year-old daughter to stop crying. She was out of breath and disheveled. She kept saying everything was OK and not to remover her daughter. Her boyfriend, sitting on the bed, was also out of breath and had a ripped shirt. He said he was playing a game on his cell phone when Williamson became upset he didn’t do something and ripped it from his hands. She then went “crazy” and ripped two of his shirts. She said they argued about finances.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Oct. 10 at 12:05 a.m., Alexander L. Wilson, 25, of Liberty Street was found in the rear parking lot of Pedal Power on Main Street with an outstanding warrant.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM — On Oct. 9 at 11:44 a.m., Cody H. Sanford, 21, of Shagbark Court, Cheshire, was driving a Plymouth Breeze on Newfield Street. He said he just got the car from his grandmother two weeks ago.

ILLEGAL OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER SUSPENSION, FAILURE TO HAVE LIGHTS LIT — On Oct 9 at 9:22 p.m., Lorenza Garrido-Pena, 46, of Main Street, New Britain, was driving a Dodge Caravan without headlights on South Main Street. He told police he was heading home from work at RiteAid.

FIRST-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On Oct. 9, Andrew Marshall, 20, of Ferry Street, Chester, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Oct. 9, Daryl Distefano, 21, of Quarry Hill Road, Killingworth, was arrested after a physical domestic with his girlfriend, Jessica Olmo, 38, of Omo Street. He was at Middlesex Hospital being treated for a bloody nose; he told police after she struck him in the nose, he pulled her from the car, bruising her wrists. Both were arrested.

TWO COUNTS VIOLATION OF PROBATION — On Oct. 8 at midnight, Daniel J. Ventre, 28, of Pearl Street was on the 200 block of Pine Street after Wesleyan Public Safety found him trespassing. He had an outstanding warrant.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED LICENSE — On Oct. 5, Amber L. Macdonald, 30, of Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, was driving without a seatbelt on Spring Street.

IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM — On Oct. 7 at 12:33 p.m., Barbara Yockachonis, 41, of Glastonbury Turnpike, Portland, was driving a Honda Accord on Spring Street.

THREATENING — On Oct. 7 at 2:06 p.m., Ronnie Jackson, 20, of Maplewood Terrace had a victim’s son whom she was picking up; and said to her, “yo, give me my [expletive], yo,” referring to an iPad 2 he thought she had. The victim said he pulled out a knife, possibly a lock blade with a black handle, raised the knife and made a throwing motion toward her. She drove off with the son and went home to Liberty Street. Jackson admitted to doing it, saying he needed the knife for protection from her boyfriend.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM — On Oct. 5, Mark G. Kneeland, 28, of Austin Drive, Marlborough, was driving on Grand Street without a seatbelt and with a cracked windshield.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED LICENSE AND UNREGISTERED, INSURANCE FAILS MINIMUM — On Oct. 4 at 6:58 p.m., Christine Ford, 49, of Main Street was driving a Mazda Protégé into the parking lot of the Valero gas station on South Main Street. She said she just found out that day it was uninsured.
