Edward A. Hagan discussed the writing of his memoir:
To Vietnam in Vain: Memoir of an Irish-American Intelligence Advisor, 1969-1970 published in 2016. Hagan talked on his with three years of research into the activities of Advisory Team 56 in the Mekong Delta. His research led him to find out about the military service of his Irish-born father and grandfather in two world wars.
