Democrats endorsed Mayor Daniel Drew

Plus Candidates For Common Council

Democrats Thursday night endorsed Mayor Daniel Drew to run for a third term in the coming municipal election, and endorsed candidates for common council, board of education, planning and zoning and other offices that includes many first-time candidates.

Candidates for mayor and common council for the first time will be running for four-year terms after voters approved a charter revision in the 2014 election to lengthen the terms from two years to four.

The party’s slate did not include Councilwoman Hope Kasper, who has served four terms. Kasper said Thursday night she intends to seek a primary to get on the November ballot.
