If you didn't grow up with a personal computer or electronic device, the world today may be daunting. Come for a reassuring, jargon-free talk and demonstration that will introduce newbies, grandparents, technophobes and the digitally challenged to all of the wonders of using a computer. You will learn how to select, buy and set up a computer, how to use e-mail and the Internet - perhaps even have a look into Facebook and Twitter! This is a talk, NOT a class. There is no pressure, relax, have some refreshments and maybe learn a thing or two!
Our presenter, Abby Stokes, is the author of "Is this thing on? A computer handbook for late bloomers, technophobes and the kicking & screaming." She has taught basic computing at Cooper Union and New York University, has presented to libraries and works with individuals and corporations.
