A local celebration of the annual worldwide United Nations International Women’s Day will be held on Sunday, March 6, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m .in Middletown, open to all who are interested in attending.
Greater Middletown’s branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) has traditionally sponsored the event locally, and this year it will be in the Woodhead Lounge, first floor, of Wesleyan University’s Exler Science Center and Science library, 252 Church Street.
Ample parking is available at the rear of the Science Center on Lawn Avenue and on adjacent Pine Street.

“Women Around the World in 2011” will be this year’s discussion focus, led by knowledgeable speakers. Networking, along with international exhibits, foods and entertainment, will again be part of the International Women’s Day activities on March 6.
