Untangling the Sutras: Yoga Philosophy Explained

with Sandra Kopell. E-RYT

The two thousand year old text, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, is astonishingly relevant to modern yoga practitioners. The text describes obstacles in the mind and body that bring about and prolong suffering. It also offers ways to liberate ourselves from suffering.Sutra translates as thread. The strands of this ancient text are best understood in a group setting. In this informal lecture and discussion students will be able to deepen their understanding of the breadth of the yoga discipline, and the classical yogic view of human psychology.
Absolutely no previous knowledge of this topic required.
We will take brief asana/stretching and breathing breaks.
