Firefighters Injured, Residents Displaced In Middletown Fire
Several residents were displaced and two firefighters were hospitalized after an overnight three-alarm fire at a condominium complex.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Several residents were displaced from their homes and two firefighters suffered heat exhaustion after an overnight fire at a condominium complex in Middletown.
Crews responded to a three-alarm fire just after midnight at the Trolley Crossing complex, 163 Trolley Crossing Lane, in the Westfield section of Middletown, according to fire officials.
On arrival, Westfield Assistant Fire Chief Jason Lubee reported smoke showing and fire at the rear of the three-story multi-family dwelling.

“Westfield fought the 3-alarm blaze with mutual aid assistance from Middletown, South Fire, Cromwell, Middlefield, East Berlin, Portland, Haddam, Durham, and Rocky Hill Fire Departments,” fire officials wrote in a post on Facebook.
The Middletown Building and Health Departments were also at the scene.

Two firefighters were taken to Middlesex Hospital for heat exhaustion and were released, officials said. Residents from 12 units were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
No residents were injured.
"Westfield Fire extends our sincere thanks to our responding mutual aid departments for their significant contributions to the successful handling of this difficult incident," officials said.
The Middletown Police Department is working with the Westfield Fire Department, Middletown Fire Department and Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
