Man Accused Of Sexual Assault: Middletown Police

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A man is accused of sexually assaulting a person in Middletown, according to police.

Joshua Botelho, 34, was arrested Sept. 28 on a warrant and charged with first-degree sexual assault and second-degree unlawful restraint.

Police said an investigation found that Botelho was in a casual relationship with the victim and went to the victim’s residence. He is accused of forcing the victim to have sex despite being told the victim did not want to do so, according to police.

Botelho was being held in lieu of a $125,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, according to state judicial records.
