Man Hospitalized After Shooting At Hookah Lounge In Middletown: Police

A man was shot after a disturbance took place inside the hookah lounge, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A 30-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot at a hookah lounge early Sunday morning in Middletown, according to police.

Police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Midnight Hookah Lounge, 695 South Main St., around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 30.

The lounge’s security told officers that a disturbance had taken place inside the business and everyone was asked to leave, according to police.

As the business was clearing out, police said personnel heard gunshots in the parking lot. Security personnel indicated that a gunshot victim had already left the scene, according to police.

Police said officers located a “blood like substance” in an adjacent parking lot, but it appeared the involved person(s) left the area in a vehicle.

Middlesex Hospitalized notified police a short time later that a man had come to the ER with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transferred to Hartford Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, according to police.
