Man Who Tries to Grab, Kiss Women on Wesleyan University Campus Gets Arrested: Middletown Police

Middletown Police responded to a report of a suspicious man and say the suspect was in possession of cocaine and continually resisted arrest

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A 29-year-old Colorado man faces several charges after Middletown Police say he was approaching women and attempting to grab them and kiss them on the Wesleyan University campus and was later found to be in possession of cocaine.

Police responded to the area of 45 Wyllys Avenue around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 22 on the report of a suspicious person wearing a black Wesleyan hat backwards and “walking up to females attempting to grab them and kiss them,” according to the police report.

The complainant pointed out the suspect, later identified as Alexander Blundon, to police.

Police said Blundon appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and was told he was being detained for further questioning.

While an officer was attempting to handcuff Blundon, he suddenly turned around and pulled his hands away and the officer’s pinky briefly got caught in the handcuffs, which caused bleeding, and a struggle ensued, according to the police report.

Police said Blundon was actively resisting and wouldn’t comply with commands.

During a search of his pockets, police discovered a small bag containing 0.49 grams of cocaine.

Police said Blundon actively resisted and was uncooperative throughout the entire arrest process and it took several attempts to secure him into a police cruiser.

Blundon also attempted to run out of the jail cell numerous times while back at police headquarters, according to police.

Blundon, of Humboldt Street, Denver, Colorado, was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics, breach of peace, interfering with an officer, and two counts of assault on a police officer.

He was released after posting a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 7.
