Middletown Memorial Day Parade Set for May 30

This year's theme is honoring Gulf War Veterans.

The City of Middletown and the Middletown Council of Veterans will be sponsoring the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30, 2016. The theme this year is "Honoring Gulf War Veterans."

The parade will start after the Middletown Vietnam War Vets Chapter conducts their annual 9am wreath-laying ceremony at on The Washington treet Veteran's Green Memorial.

PIC05873.JPGThe Main Street parade will start around 10:30 am at Spring and Main Street, move south on Main Street to Union Green at Pleasant and Main Street. There will be a ceremony on Union Green after the parade.

Also, The Middlesex Historical Society is again marching to show our support for our many brave veterans who have sacrificed so much to keep our country safe. Please join us at the corner of Stack Street and Pease Avenue (in Middletown's North End) on Monday at 10 am. You do not need to be in an historical costume - we just want you to come so our veterans from World War II to today know that we appreciate their service. See you there and have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.
