Middletown Man Made False 911 Call so He Could Sleep

The man allegedly called 911 on his wife saying she had a medical issue.

A Middletown man was charged with falsely reporting an incident after he made a 911 call saying his wife was unresponsive.

Peter Recchia, 54, called 911 saying his wife was having a medical issue and was unresponsive.

When Middletown Fire Department and Hunters Ambulance responded to the scene, they found Recchia’s wife sitting in a chair and smoking a cigarette. She reported having no injuries and illnesses and said that she was fine.

When a police officer arrived at the scene, Recchia told the officer he was concerned his wife was not taking her medication as he had been away from home for 10 days.

Rechhia also said his wife babbles if she does not take her medication. He later admitted to the officer that he wanted to get to bed early as he had a court date in the morning so he told the dispatcher his wife was unresponsive so medical attention would arrive sooner.
