Middletown Police Mourn Death Of Retired K-9 Judge

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The Middletown Police Department is mourning the death of a beloved retired K-9.

The department announced the death of K-9 Judge in a post on Facebook on Wednesday.

“Officer Will Maio and K-9 Judge graduated the 156th CSP K9 Class in January of 2013,” police wrote in the post. “This incredible K-9 duo has had numerous successful tacks, building searches, evidence recoveries, and suspect apprehensions. There was one day in particular that they tracked and apprehended (2) separate suspects. This day has been referred to as ‘Judge’ment Day.

“In addition to their work on the road they were at several community events and in the schools meeting children and passing out Judge trading cards. They also won several awards over the years at the CT K-9 Olympics!

“Our thoughts are with Officer Maio and his entire family during this difficult time.

“Rest In Peace Judge, thank you for your service.”
