Middletown’s Annual Cruise Night on Man to be held on June 12

(Middletown, CT) Chairman Don DeVivo of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, along with Event Chairman Joe Santaniello, announced that Middletown’s 22nd Annual Cruise Night On Main, powered by NAPA, will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

In addition to the City of Middletown and the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, sponsors for this free annual downtown event include Title Sponsor: NAPA; Hot Rod Sponsors: Downtown Business District; Hot Rod Sponsors: Key Chevrolet and The River 105.9; Car Show Sponsors: Dunkin’ Donuts Batista Companies, Eli Cannon’s Tap Room and Liberty Bank; Cruiser Sponsors: The Flood Law Firm, Innovative Restorations, Inc, Untouchable Towing, SERVPRO Middletown/New Britain, and Middletown Toyota. Additional event supporters include: Middlesex Music Academy, All American Productions, Lyman Orchards, The Garage Guys Car Club, The Eastern Chapter Over the Hill Gang Car Club, and the Connecticut Military Car Club.

Hundreds of cars are expected to line both sides of Middletown’s scenic Main Street from Washington Street to the South Green. Free parking for spectators for the evening is available at municipal-owned city lots including Melilli Plaza Parking Lot accessible from Washington Street, Washington & Broad Street lots, accessible from Washington Street onto Broad Street. Secondary parking is available in MiddleOak Garage which is accessible from High Street from Washington Street and left down to College Street. The charge for this parking is 75 cents per half hour. Main Street will be closed between Washington Street down to the South Green with vintage cars for viewing and band entertainment.

Music and food, combined with the array of pre-1994 classic vehicles, will make this a family friendly and fun event for everyone. Entertainment includes Shaded Soul Band, an R&B and Motown band on the Showmobile, All American Productions Patriotic-Themed Fashion Show, WMRD / WLIS Radio which will be in front of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce playing oldies music. Over the Hill Gang Car Club DJ will be located by Brew Bakers, spinning tunes from the 50’s / 60’s; and The River 105.9 will be located on the South Green.

Sponsor awards will be announced at approximately 8:00 p.m. The Awards include Best In Show Award – Powered by NAPA, the Key Chevrolet Choice Award – presented by Key Chevrolet, the Main Drag Award - presented by Downtown Business District, Liberty’s Choice Award - presented by Liberty Bank , The Fat City Cycle Award – presented by Eli Cannon’s Tap Room, Cruise Night Runs on Dunkin Award – presented by Dunkin Donuts, The Smokin’ Hot Award – presented by Servpro of Middletown / New Britain, Flood Choice Award – presented by The Flood Law Firm, Untouchable Towing Choice Award – presented by Untouchable Towing, Let’s Go Places Award – presented by Middletown Toyota and the Mayor’s Choice Award- presented by Mayor Daniel Drew.

This event will benefit Middletown youth programs, including the Hal Kaplan Middletown Mentor Program, Middletown Recreation Programs, and the Middletown Summer Youth Employment Program.

There is a suggested donation of $10.00 for participants.

This event is for pre-1994 vehicles. Special interest vehicles will be on display with prior approval.

Registration for the cars will begin at 4:30 p.m. Cars should enter at the south end of Main Street. Registration signs will be posted in the area.
